Vintage Children's Patterns

I have another question for my followers:  Do you think there is a market for vintage children's sewing patterns?  Below are some of the patterns I had listed for several months on Etsy, of which I only ever sold one.  I know it's hard to get most little girls into something that looks decent these days, as opposed to the current style of Britney-wear, but infants and toddlers would have to wear whatever you put on them it seems to me.  Update 25 August 2015!  I have listed some children's patterns here.  Look for the tabs at the top of the blog.

Just Ducky

Aren't these just the cutest?  They are Ducky Baby Blanket Fasteners and the beaks hold the corners of the blanket and the ties fasten onto the crib or stroller to keep the blanket on the baby.  The ducks are made of celluloid and are probably from the late 1940's.  They are still in their box!!

Here is a neat metal rabbit pair from 1928, currently for sale for $45.00!

Apparently these clips are still being made.  No doubt because they are a great invention.  Here is a pair from Japan.  Another set from Japan showing how to use them.

Here is a link to a beautiful set made when silk ribbon was still obtainable.  On Ebay for $38 with 4 days left.  Wish I had a job!

This auction is for an empty box with beautiful graphics from the '20's for a set of Snugins Coverlet Fasteners.

Bunnies and Blankets

I found this delightfully illustrated instruction at an estate sale recently.  A little research turned up this.

And this item is just wonderful!  Wish I had seen it sooner.  And this newspaper announcement from 1926 is really interesting.

Why?

Is your little girl just too active in her full skirt and blouse and you always find yourself saying "Tuck your blouse back in!" or just doing it yourself?  Is her full slip always falling off because of stretched elastic on the waistband?    Does she go out WITHOUT her slip?

Well, here's the solution:  the BlouseSlip!

Yes, that is what they call this.  If you're worried about the blouse pouffing up over the waistband, however, that is still going to happen if she is playing on the monkeybars.  But if she is doing that, you have other worries!
